This is a pastel from the series, Scenes From A Western Adventure. It is overlapping thick pastel shapes just like in my acrylic and oil works.
The sacred breath and energy is surrounding and healing what is within.
This painting was sold shortly after I completed it, to a woman who had just lost 2 close family members. When she saw it, tears came to her eyes, and she said that it comforted her.

While in Maine, near the deep woods one day, I saw this image in my mind. I believe that it is one of the original people of that area from ancient times.

I am fascinated with the myths of Ireland and Scotland. The Undine represents a Scottish water spirit that is peering through the ocean spray, searching for a mate so that she can acquire a human soul.

I finished this work about the time that the volcano erupted in Iceland. And the title just came to me as I was painting. I also have a fascination with Iceland and islands.
